New Virus to look out for
Widespread Reporting of “Here you have” Virus (aka W32/VBMania@MM)

McAfee Labs is currently investigating a new threat commonly referred to as the “Here you have” virus due to the email subject line the worm uses during propagation. It looks like multiple variants may be spreading and may take some time to work through them all to paint a clearer picture. Here’s what we know thus far.
Infectious email messages may have the following properties:
Subject: Here you have or Just For you
Body: Hello:
This is The Document I told you about, you can find it Here.
http://www.sharedocuments.com/library/PDF_Document21.025542010.pdf
Please check it and reply as soon as possible.
Cheers,
or
Hello:
This is The Free Dowload Sex Movies, you can find it Here.
http://www.sharemovies.com/library/SEX21.025542010.wmv
Enjoy Your Time.
Cheers,
The URL does not actually lead to a PDF document, but rather an executable in disguise, such as PDF_Document21_025542010_pdf.scr served from a different domain, such as members.multimania.co.uk this URL is no longer active and the email propagation vector is believed to be crippled at this time (though already infected hosts may continue to spread email messages). Here is some additional information on the threat behavior:
Generic.dx!tsp!2BDE56D8FB2D – http://home.mcafee.com/VirusInfo/VirusProfile.aspx?key=275352
W32/VBMania@MM – http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_275435.htm
When a user chooses to manually follow the hyperlink, they will be prompted to download or execute the virus. When run, the virus installs itself to the Windows directory as CSRSS.EXE (not to be confused with the valid CSRSS.EXE file within the Windows System directory). Once infected the worm attempts to send the aforementioned message to email address book recipients. It can also spread through accessible remote machines, mapped drives, and removable media via Autorun replication.

Free up disk space
By following a few simple guidelines, you can maintain your computer and keep it running smoothly. This article discusses how to use the tools available in Windows 7, Vista, and XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) to more efficiently maintain your computer and safeguard your privacy when you're online.
1. Free up disk space
The Disk Cleanup tool helps you free up space on your hard disk to improve the performance of your computer. The tool identifies files that you can safely delete, and then enables you to choose whether you want to delete some or all of the identified files.Use Disk Cleanup to:
- Remove temporary Internet files.
- Remove downloaded program files (such as Microsoft ActiveX controls and Java applets).
- Empty the Recycle Bin.
- Remove Windows temporary files such as error reports.
- Remove optional Windows components that you don't use.
- Remove installed programs that you no longer use.
- Remove unused restore points and shadow copies from System Restore.
To use Disk Cleanup

Improve PC Performance With the Best Antispyware Software
For a real-time performance of your PC, the best anti spyware software has become a necessity. Unlike a virus or a worm, spyware doesn't spread over a network but usually target the user's computer in disguise. It usually targets user's important details, like passwords, credit card numbers, and other sensitive information. In response to emergence of spyware, several companies have released antispyware software, which helps to remove and block spyware.
Antispyware software provides enhanced protection in two ways: real time or detection and removal. Real time protection is associated with active protection as it prevents the installation of spyware on your computer. It scans the incoming data from the network and blocks the detected spyware. The other type of antispyware searches your computer for installed spyware and removes it from your computer. Antispyware software scans the matter of the Windows registry, operating system files, and the programs installed on your computer and provides you the complete list of found threat, thereby allowing you to choose from what you want to keep and delete from your computer. With this spyware protection, you can run scans on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to detect and eradicate any installed spyware.
There are varieties of anti spyware software are available in the market. Though, most of the antispyware software performs the same job of protecting your computer against spyware, however the intensity of protection provided by them varies. One must always be careful while downloading any antispyware. Some programs appear to be antispyware software, but they are spyware instead and can do a lot of damage. Before downloading any antispyware from the Internet, check its authenticity. The banner advertisements should never be trusted and antispyware programs should always be downloaded from known companies.
If you want to choose the best anti spyware software for yourself, these are several companies, such as, AVG, Grisoft, etc that have released several products for an enhanced protection. Nowadays, major antivirus brands are available with added anti-spyware features to their existing antivirus products, which act as a line of defense against viruses, spyware and other malicious software. Windows Defender is a free anti-spyware tool from Microsoft for its Windows users which comes by default with Windows Vista and Windows 7.
To assure complete protection against spyware, always install the latest version of antispyware, get the latest updates and perform a thorough scan of your computer using best anti spyware.

computer virus
Preventive Measures:
1. Do not click on any advertisements that pops up, just close them. They install an adware on your computer that will make your browser redirect to their websites. Although harmless, they are quite a nuisance, a stupid marketing strategy.
2. Do not visit porn sites or sites that gives you keys/serials/cracks for softwares. These sites are notorious for infecting computers with some rather serious threats that can steal your personal information.
3. Always scan any removable media like pen drives/CD-DVD/ external storage before opening the folders or copying any data.
4. Do not trust anyone with your computer. Never give full access to your computer to anyone, even your family members. Create seperate accounts for everone who uses it and keep it password protected. If possible create accouts with limited access for others.
5. Never open mails from unknown persons or company. Just delete them or move it to the spam mail folder. Mail titles are written intelligently to make you open them, no one is going to give you $1,000,000 or a freebie. These, may contain no virus but they may fool you into beliving them, only to make you pay them your hard earned money.
6. Always keep your wireless connection at home secured with a password. Anyone can connect to your unsecured wireless network and do illegal stuff or perform terrorist activities, you will be pulled up for it by the authorities since it is your fault.
7. Lastly, always keep your security software updated.

Internal wireless (Wi-Fi) card failure
Internal wireless (Wi-Fi) card failure.
Most newer laptops come with an internal wireless card installed. In some models the wireless card could be easily access through the door on the bottom of the laptop. In other models, the wireless card is buried deep inside the case. What can you do if the internal wireless card fails? You can replace the internal wireless card with another one or use a PCMCIA wireless card instead.

USB on laptop stop working
USB ports failure.
Most laptops have a few USB ports available and if one of them stops working, usually it’s not a big deal because you still have two or three working USB ports left. But what if all of them stopped working at once. Let’s say the USB controller on the motherboard went bad and the laptop stopped recognizing any USB device plugged in any USB port. Again, I’m talking about hardware, not software failure. In order to fix this problem you’ll have to replace the motherboard.
Alternatively, you can use a PCMCIA USB card. You plug this card into the PC slot and get two or four USB ports instead. It depends on the type of your PCMCIA card.
